The best speakeasy bars in Rome

If “cocktails” is the word, Argot is the answer. Located a footstep away from Campo de’ Fiori,  this fabulous speakeasy with a 1920s Parisian style is really something. No signs on the door, just a doorbell. Ring the bell and a gentleman will open the door and let you know if there are any lounge areas available, if not, just stay by the bar, it’s certainly worth it.

The nostalgic design with bricked walls, dimmed lights and candle-lit tables, theater seats and stools, armchairs and vintage objects, create the perfect ambiance for an intimate get-together. And while you sip your cocktail and get lost in the splendid ambiance made up of people of all ages, fantastic jazz, blues and soul background music floats in the air. Not to mention the great live music sessions they have during the week!

Just by looking at the cocktail selection you’ll have a hard time picking, from cocktails made with whisky, bourbon, gin and much more. If I may help, the Missionaire, the Papillon and Les Triangle Perdit are all unmissable.

The service is friendly, passionate and talented and will make you feel right at home. And for the smokers, Argot is equipped with smoke extractors so you can smoke all you want in the smoker lounge area. I suggest you make a reservation.
