The best rooftop bars in Budapest
Spring has arrived to Hungary! The clock has fast-forward one hour ahead and daylight savings has begun! Yes, we will all have one less hour of sleep but we also get longer days! You know what that means?
In my book, longer days means happy hours on great rooftop terraces with killer views. And if you’re in Budapest searching for something that meets my description, I’ve got the perfect place for you!
It’s called High Note SkyBar and it’s on the 9th floor of the beautiful Aria Hotel in Budapest. It’s on the Pest side of the Chain Bridge, just a stone’s throw away from the stunning St. Stephens Basilica, in the 6th district.
Walk inside this gorgeous boutique hotel, take the elevator and wait till the doors open, because the view of St. Stephen’s Basilica has never been more beautiful!
As soon as you arrive, head to the modern bar area enclosed in a glass box, but don’t stop there (unless it’s raining or it’s winter time)! The best part is about to come!
A lushes 360-degree rooftop garden with views of the Basilica and the whole city, combined with great chillout vibes is what you’re getting.
The setting is spectacular, special and super trendy. I love the layout of the rooftop terrace, it seems like a garden in the clouds. And those chairs and sofas are really comfy!
But it’s not just the setting that’s perfect, wait until you try their drinks! A great cocktail selection with High Note Skybar’s signature cocktails along with a good wine selection with wines coming from Hungary, Italy and France is what awaits you. My favorite cocktails are the Basil Blossom (with limoncello, white vermouth, basil and lemon juice) and the Budapest Mule!
The food is also delicious! We ordered a cheese platter to accompany our cocktails and it was divine! Four different types of cheese with varying consistencies and two amazing sauces. The walnut sauce was to die for!
Lunch, dinner, snacks or happy hours, High Note SkyBar is perfect for all of these occasions!
Whether it’s with your friends, your family or your partner, this place is a must.
Since the good season has just started (and High Note SkyBar is for sure going to be packed), I suggest you make a reservation!
