Osteria Le Mani in Pasta: Roman cuisine and delicious seafood in Rome

Rome hardly gets more “Roman” than Trastevere (at least, the local part of Trastevere). This neighbourhood represents your Roman next door neighbour. It’s full of life and it’s one of the most hyped central locations of the Eternal City. And if you want to dive into local Roman cuisine, I cannot recommend this neighbourhood more! And I cannot recommend Osteria Le Mani in Pasta enough!

At this restaurant, get ready for a real traditional-style trattoria experience. Oh, and make SUPER sure you have a reservation, this place is always packed! If you make a dinner reservation for the same day, don’t to it later than noon! So why is this place so awesome? The second you step foot inside Le Mani in Pasta, you’re wrapped up by a warm and informal atmosphere, typical of a Roman osteria.  And on the same note, the food here is mind blowing! They serve exquisite Roman cuisine as well as yummy seafood, meat and pasta dishes from different Italian regions.

All the dishes are of high quality and extremely fresh. Le Mani in Pasta makes it its mission to order fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, home-made pasta and cheese every day. The must-orders? You can’t leave this restaurant without trying the seabass carpaccio with truffles, and the gnocchetti sardi with fava beans, cherry tomatoes, shrimps, truffles and asparagus!

Oh, and don’t forget to leave some space for dessert! I had a ricotta and raspberry cake that I still crave to this very day! Also the wine selection is great and they also have some yummy dessert wine!

For those of you who like to enjoy a cigarette while eating, do not despair, this restaurant is built on two floors and dedicates the bottom floor to smokers. So if you’re not a smoker, make sure not to get a reservation in the smoker section!

Apart from the obvious reasons why you should dine at Le Mani in Pasta, it’s also perfect for those that want to explore Trastevere after lunch or dinner. Remember to make that reservation (even a day in advance)!
